TWO WOMEN JAILED FOR ILLEGAL BUNKERING IN DELTA STATE,NIGERIA

As a result of illegal dealing and bunkering of petroleum products, two women(Helen Itemba and Aladini Money) were sentenced to three years imprisonment (with an option of N300,000 fine). These convicts were prosecuted by  Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
The judgement took place at Federal High Court Asaba in Delta state.
They were arrested in may 2009 when caught with 136 plastic drums of petroleum products, and handed over to EFCC.
What is N300,000 fine compared to millions these thieves make from bunkering? With a wave of the hand they would pay the fine and go back into same shoes. Perpetrators should be made to suffer appropriately.
