THOUSANDS TOOK TO THE STREETS OF BRAZIL IN PROTEST AS CONFEDERATION CUP STARTS

Over 1000,00 people took to the street in Brazil to vent their frustration with the activities of the government in recent times. What started as a peaceful rally later turned bloody.
There has been heavy tax burdens, increased transportation cost, pitiful health conditions amongst others. These plus the fact that government is investing huge amount of money in World Cup are the cause of the uproar.

RESTAURANT OWNER WHO USES WATER FROM MORTUARY TO COOK, RUNS MAD AND CONFESS TO SIEZING CUSTOMER'S DESTINY

owner of a popular buka in Portharcourt who confessed last Saturday to using diabolical means to entice customers, as well as take their “destinies.” Sounds like the story line of a Nigerian movie, but people, this happened for real.

According to eye witnesses, the Lady above, who is from Akwa Ibom, suddenly ran mad while at her buka located at Aleto in Eleme Local Government area of Port-Harcourt, Rivers state.

They say she suddenly started acting bizarre, tore her clothes and started confessing how she employed diabolical means for the growth of her business. In her confession, she said she mixes water used to bathe corpses with her food, as well as water from her private part and menstruation blood. She said she did all these to attract customers whose “destinies” she used for the growth of her business and riches.

 

She then ran around town naked, confessing her atrocities, appearing to have lost her sanity. The news of her confession spread around the area, and some of her customers((including Okada men)  and angry onlookers descended on her and gave her the beating of her life, before Police men intervened and took her away.

WAZE , GOOGLES NEW BUY

Newly acquired by Google, Waze is an Israeli based company running the social traffic and mapping application. This purchase is pegged at approximately $1.03 billion.
In the face of stiff competition between android and other OS platforms, Google is sure to boost its strides and have an edge.
Face book had previously vied for Waze but was beaten to it .
For now, the Waze team would be left in Israel to do their thing .

Pokello, one of the inmates in the present Big Brother Africa (8th edition) has a sex tape that's gone viral. Guess she shot this before getting to the House. What do you think of this? would it enhance her chances of winning, or would it do the opposite. 27 years old Harare-born Pokello from Zimbabwe has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Media and Communications and owns a luxury shoe boutique.

WOMAN MAKES HISTORY BY DELIVERING OCTUPLETS

Texas woman makes history by delivering octuplets

6 girls, 2 boys alive but critical

HOUSTON (CNN) -- A Texas woman has delivered what is believed to be history's first-ever known set of surviving octuplets -- six girls and two boys.

Nkem Chukwu, 27, who was about 6 1/2 months into her pregnancy, gave birth to seven of the children Sunday morning via Caesarean section at St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital in Houston.
One girl was born via vaginal delivery on December 8, after which doctors managed to stop Chukwu's labor and give the remaining babies nearly two more weeks in the womb.
The babies born Sunday ranged in size from 11 ounces to 1 pound, 11 ounces. The girl born in December weighed 1 pound. All eight are in critical condition breathing with the aid of ventilators at Texas Children's Hospital, which is adjacent to St. Luke's.
"They're doing as well as can be expected. They're hanging in there," said Dr. Patty Severick, a pediatrician at Texas Children's. "We're very hopeful all of the babies will survive."READ ON AFTER THE CUT.

BLACKBERRY TO LAUNCH BBM (Blackberry Messanger) ON ANDROID AND iOS

 This is referring to a post I culled from techcrunch.com (published on the 14th May 2013)-
{ Today at BlackBerry Live, CEO Thorsten Heins announced BBM will soon be available on Android and iOS. The messaging app will launch globally this summer. This is a huge move for BlackBerry as it brings BB10′s strongest feature to literally hundreds of millions of potential users.
“It is a state of confidence,” Heins explained. “The BB10 platform is so strong and the response has been so good that the time is right for BBM to become an independent mobile messaging platform.”
The app will be free on both Android and iOS. Much like other messaging apps, it will be a standalone application. iOS 6 or Ice Cream Sandwich will be required.
Initially, only messaging and group features will be available. But Heins promised that the rest of BBM will eventually make its way to the Android and iOS versions including screen sharing, BBM voice and the just-announced BBM channels.
We are making the BBM platform more powerful than ever”, Heins proudly stated. And with this very uncharacteristic move from BlackBerry, it’s hard to argue against his statement.
It’s clear BlackBerry is finally waking up. They are no longer the big dog in the mobile war. If they are to survive, the company needs to forge new relationships and learn to work well with the two reigning platforms. This move to put BBM on Android and iOS is a big step forward. BlackBerry might actually have a chance.}
Personally I think this would either sink RIM or make it float as there is a great  risk involved here, considering the fact that most users stay glued to Blackberry because of its unique messaging (BBM). Does RIM have something up its sleeve?
Would blackberry users defect to other brands like iOS or Android? Only time will tell.
